Legend is that Kush lost his armlet, while bathing in the Saryu, which was picked up by a Nag-Kanya, who fell in love with him. As she was a devotee of Shiva, Kush erected this temple for her.

SuryaKund Temple

Suryakund Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to the Sun God, Surya, located in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, India. The temple is located about 5 kilometers from the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. The temple is believed to have been built in the 18th century by a Shakdwipiya Brahmin King named Darshan Singh. The temple is built in the traditional Nagara architectural style. The temple has a sanctum sanctorum (garbhagriha) where the idol of Surya is installed. The temple also has a central hall (mandapa) where devotees can worship.
